Pegas GP Harness

The new feature introduced by the Czech PG manufacturer Pegas in their new harness “GP” is a new system to simplify the buckling up, by using just a chest buckle connected with the leg straps, which excludes the possibility of forgetting to close the leg straps before taking off. The GP also comes with ABS (adjustable balancing system) adjustable in flight, quick release buckles, anti-forget leg loops, back foam protector (17 cm), side protectors and speed system, and an aerodynamic shape with extended top part.

Apco Finesse Top Harness

The new member of the Finesse range of harnesses features a finer and aerodynamic form, greater aesthetics and comfort, and parachute container under the seat with deployment handle on the side. "Special attention was given to ensure secure and safe chute deployment under any circumstances and in any deployment direction”, say the Top’s designers.
Based on the Finesse Extra, the Top uses the same materials and protections of this line, with optional frontal neoprene closing for more aerodynamics and foot stirrup for supine flying and added comfort.
Available in L/XL, S/M and XS sizes.

GIN Yeti Harness/Bag

Gin is determined to develop the lightest paragliding equipment of the world, and they already released their new mountain glider YETI a short time ago. The lightweight option is now complemented by this curious harness that becomes a bag to carry your entire gear mountain up, and a harness to fly down from the summits. The Yeti harness weights only 1.1 kg and it comes with carabiners. Together with the Yeti glider, based in the Bolero (DHV 1) and weighting around 4 kg, you can carry all the equipment on your back in something more than 5 kg.

DVD Ozone ‘Future Style’: Pure action

The DVD has been distributed region-free through Ozone dealers, but you can order a copy from Ozone, just paying 5 euros to cover postage and packing: www.flyozone.com.

Otherwise, download a stream version from Guillaume’s website: http://guillaume007.free.fr/

In about 15 minutes, the Ozone crew have packed the best images featuring their gliders and their team pilots. The Paragliding section of the promotional DVD ‘Future Style’ is a series of clips in which the Acro scenes edited at the rhythm of rocking songs show exactly what the brand wants to show: Pure action in their gliders. “That’s the way I like it”, sings one of the pilots.
There’s a part dedicated to the Atom 2 (their beginner’s glider, to be replaced by the Mojo soon) introduced by the Renegades Acro Team and their famous downplannings; another section featuring the Vulcan (DHV 2) in the hands of Mike Kung as he jumps from an helicopter to cross the English Channel, or around Chris Santacroce and Othar Lawrence as they perform some of their favorite tricks; and a chapter for the Vibe (DHV 1-2), playing wagas or doing dbag jumps. The Acro sequences also include ground spirals, loop-tumbles, dynamic sats, helicopters and jumps from balloons, tandems, bridges and helicopters. A few parachute jumps and water-landings complete the pack.
The Paragliding video was directed by Guillaume Broust, who’s been involved in video production during the last years and has some recognized works, like “Vertigames” (about the Vertigo 2002) or “The flying Babouches”, awarded a prize for humour film in last year’s Festival of St. Hilaire. The images are stunning, well shot and edited, although the video lacks a story or a script that would make it something more than a video clip.
As an extra, there’s a Kite section with some astonishing images of what the experts can do with a piece of cloth, 2 ropes and a board. Kite fans will surely appreciate it.

Paratoys 2004 – PPG action in California Posted: January 11th, 2004

More information in

http://www.paratoys.com/news.html

Paratoys is a PPG Convention & Fly-Inn that attracted hundreds of pilots in its edition 2003, and this year will take place from the 5th to the 8th of February, in the coastal area of Salton Sea, California (USA). The event offers several attractive and amusing activities that are worth seeing, like the kiting wars, the two-men kiting wars race (without the motor on the back, it’s understood), foot-drag races, pylon traversing, Spot landing and Bomb drop. The action also includes 4 routes in paramotor and various clinics with subjects like Secrets to winning at kiting wars, Thermaling with a paramotor, or Prop balancing.

For free-flight pilots there will be powered winch towing available on request, so everybody can fly. If the winds are good in sunny California a mass speed launch is planned, and a commercial fair will be built onsite where the main manufacturers of paramotors in North American will be represented, like Fresh Breeze, Flyproducts, SD Paramotors or Paralite Skycruisers, and paraglider brands like Macpara, Apco, Silex paragliders and Wills Wing Paragliders. Among the prizes there are 1000 dollars offered by the sponsor Red Bull and a new 5,000-dollars-value paramotor. The convention culminates with a Barbeque feast and the traditional Prop Burning Ceremony, a sacrifice for the Sky Gods in which long life is begged for the new props...

Models affected are MIX and VELVET:
Woody Valley warns about
non-authorised harness copies

*This label is the only guarantee that ensures we have checked the harness and that we have authorized its sale under our responsibility.

Any sales of these copies can result in the charge of dumping and forgery. We have reliable information that a dealer in Germany, as well as a large number of Swedish flying schools, has already been offered these products.

The manufacturer of harnesses Woody Valley has released the following information (published in DHV’s website): “Following some unsolvable contrasts with one of the firms that produce harnesses designed by us, with our know-how, our projects and trademark, we report as follows: From the beginning of November 2003, some non-authorized figures may try to distribute copies of our products MIX and VELVET.These copies are seemingly identical to our products, even bearing our company logo, but have some irreparable production mistakes to the main strap system, which modify their flying characteristics.

From March 2003, all our paragliding harnesses bear a silver-coloured adhesive label set inside the back pocket. This label contains:
· Company Data.
· Identification code of the importer that purchased the good.
· DHV certification number.
· Month and year of production.
· Month and year in which the good left our plant.
· Progressive number.

Thus we invite all dealers of the paragliding and hang-gliding sector and all possible final purchasers to be wary of MIX and VELVET harnesses offered at a too low price compared to the market average or with obscure origin. Always check that the above-mentioned label is present (visible in the picture).

Woody Valley declines all responsibility and does not guarantee any post-sale assistance for these copies that are easily identifiable.

In ascertained cases, Woody Valley reserves the right to take legal action against the parties involved in the sale of these copies".
