TEST: BRONTES - SKY PARAGLIDERS
Pilot: Daniel Crespo Valdéz
Published in Parapente Vuelo Libre Magazine (Spain)

Sky Paragliders was born in Slovenia in 1988, under the name "Sky Servis" and directed by PG pilot Marko Malohvrn (who died in an accident during the PG Europeans in Piedrahita 1998). He, together with the brothers Tomas and Roman Lednik, started the company and moved it to the Czech Republic in 1992, where it is still based in Frydlant, now in a new exclusive building dedicated to paragliding production and with its definitive name "Sky Paragliders".

Since its beginning, this brand was closely related to the paragliding community both Slovenian and Czech, through the organization of competitions and events, and by financing instruction courses. A philosophy adapted to the specific needs of its market.

The Sky Team is comprised of prestigious pilots, like Milan Michna, many times member of the Czech PG selection and who is also the house's designer, and Tomas Lednik, perhaps one of the most representative pilots of the Czech Republic. Tomas is a former SHV test pilot and he is now in charge of tuning the prototypes. The gliders' designer is Alexander Paux (Swiss), responsible for the Brontes (meaning "thunder" in Greek), who started in PG design in 1990 with his own company 'Calipt'Air', and in 1999 became a collaborator for Sky. He does his work from home, near the lake of Geneva, in Switzerland.

In competition, Sky has had remarkable models, such as the Divine, that in a time (2000-2001) outstood by its good performance and a special, clean aesthetics. Sky paragliders manufactures paragliders, harnesses and reserve parachutes. They have a dealer's network of 21 members, most in Europe, and they are just starting to turn their looks to the Spanish speaking community.
