Karen and Jason: World Record couple

On June 6, Karen Skinner and Jason Whitehead managed to set two new paramotor world records -one each-, using the same engine and paraglider successively flying on the Spanish Costa Brava. The couple used a Niviuk Artik 3 size 27 and a PAP Thor 200 motor that endured the climb from 0 to 3200m of height in less than 23 minutes, and two times in a row, without problems.

Accident report: brake toggle in prop

Paramotor pilots in Australia are sharing an accident report issued after Chris Atkinson’s death from which we can all learn something. According to witnesses and investigation, the accident happened when his right brake toggle was caught by the propeller causing a severe right hand spiral dive into the ground.

The 2013 edition of the Spanish paragliding festival displayed an action-packed program of activities and shows, but the best were certainly the flying moments. We were at the Tower of the Castle to shoot the spectacular take-offs, at the Spanish paramotor team slalom training, and also over El Yelmo peak enjoying amazing conditions for free flight. Chris Atkinson in fatal accident

Aussie PPG world record holder passed away on Sunday after crashing with his paramotor near a dam in Brisbane, where he was enjoying a local morning flight. The experienced pilot had recently received FAI ratification of his world record of distance in a straight line with limited fuel (353,69 km) of November 10th, 2012.

The annual free flight exhibition and fair in Italy –held in Borso del Grappa during Easter– hosted a paramotor competition for the first time this year, with nine top pilots invited to show off their skills. The French champion, powered by a Macfly Polini Thor 200 and an Ozone Viper glider, took the 1st place, ahead of Aurelien Ganaye and Petr Matousek.
